I have always loved books and literature and it has been exciting to be able to turn my passion for reading into a rewarding writing pursuit. As the Topic Editor for World Literatures, I am enjoying the opportunity to experience and share some of the world's great literature as well as reviewing new and emerging writers. I enjoy the opportunity Suite101 provides to not only focus on my feature category, but to also post articles across a variety of topics.

One of the aspects of writing at Suite101 that I have enjoyed most is the opportunity to promote Australian products, businesses and authors. I have published a large number of book reviews and continue to be excited by the depth and range of talent that is out there in the Australian publishing industry.

I work as a freelance writer, often working in conjunction with my writing partner Meredith Flynn. I am a senior reviewer for Australian site Kids Book Review. I post regular book reviews and posts about books, reading an creativity at Reading Upside Down and more general posts at Living Upside Down. You can also find me on Twitter or follow my Facebook page.

I have published print articles for magazines such as Show Mummy the Money, the Business Mums Network Magazine and Newcastle's Child (previously called Sunny Days Magazine). In 2005 Meredith and I published Keep the Table Laughing - A Cookbook with a Twist, designed to provide easy to prepare recipes for people who love to cook but who need to fit cooking in around all their other everyday commitments.

I live in Newcastle, Australia with my husband and three children, enjoying all the pleasures of living in one of Australia's largest cities while also enjoying the benefits of living near the beach, Lake Macquarie and the beautiful Hunter Valley.

I'm looking forward to taking on more writing challenges in the future and would love to hear from any readers with comments or suggestions for future articles.
